The Philadelphia Research Initiative at The Pew Charitable Trusts published Philadelphia 2013: The State of the City. The report presents a multi-dimensional, fact-based portrait of America’s fifth-largest city through 81 graphics drawn from a wide range of sources, and includes findings on the city’s arts and culture sector. CDP was used as one of the data sources for this report.
The report looks at financial health for Philadelphia arts and cultural organizations, and detects what appears to be an improvement of the financial condition of the sector in Philadelphia since 2011. Looking at attendance numbers, more than 300 arts and culture organizations reported a total of 15.3 million visits in 2011, with historic attractions drawing the largest annual audiences.
