  • Posted Feb 17, 2011

Arts & Economic Prosperity IV™, a nationwide research study being conducted by Americans for the Arts, has gained a powerful ally in the New York State cultural sector. The Chenango County Council of the Arts announced on February 14 that it has joined the study, which will evaluate the role nonprofit arts organizations play in their local economies. Americans for the Arts is the country’s leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts and has collected 200 study partners across the U.S.  The Council of the Arts will “facilitate the gathering of detailed economic and event attendance data from nonprofit arts and culture organizations located throughout Chenango County” using data gathered from the New York State Cultural Data Project, further expanding the practical use of CDP’s extensive data set for the purpose of analyzing and improving the arts and cultural industry in the U.S.
