Trust Magazine, Summer 2011The Summer 2011 issue of Trust Magazine, the biannual magazine published by The Pew Charitable Trusts, featured a brief article on the Cultural Data Project. The article, “Gathering the Numbers on Arts and Culture,” highlights the CDP’s launch last year in Michigan and notes that arts patrons in the state will soon have the data they need to make arts and culture part of the Governor’s broader strategy about budget priorities.
The article features quotes from Melonie Colaianne, president of the Masco Corporation Foundation in Michigan, and Brian Rogers, deputy executive director of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, both of whom have been centrally involved in launching the CDP in their states. “We know the arts are very valuable,” said Colaianne in the article. “We can’t just say those words, though. We have to be able to back that up. [The CDP] will allow us to do that.”
