The Association of Midwest Museums (AMM), a non-profit membership organization that provides resources to Midwestern museums and cultural institutions, featured a 2-page spread on the Cultural Data Project in the Winter 2011 edition of their newsletter, NewsBrief (the CDP feature begins on page 10). Written by CDP Associates Sarah Kowalski and Michael Keeler, the article speaks to the value of the Cultural Data Profile as a tool that allows arts and cultural organizations to easily report on and analyze the state of their finances, operations, and program work at no cost. The article also explores the importance of CDP data as ammunition for arts researchers and advocates in the escalating battle to keep arts funding alive in local, state, and federal legislatures.
The Cultural Data Project is active in three of the eight states AMM serves (Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan), and the success of the project in those states continues to grow interest expanding the CDP to the rest of the Midwest.
