The Worcester Telegram & Gazette recently applauded the new Cultural Investment Portfolio, a general operating support program of the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), and the Cultural Data Project, as a key component of the new initiative. MCC’s new program is a departure from the annual application process. Instead, site visits and frequent communications among constituencies are stressed, multi-year support is offered and participation in the Cultural Data Project is required. The article went on to state, “[o]n a practical level, the CDP and the closely related portfolio approach here in Massachusetts will enable arts organizations to get a better handle on their finances and investments.”
