Wenhua Di

Research Director

Wenhua Di joined SMU DataArts as the research director in 2024. Wenhua also serves as a research professor of arts management and arts entrepreneurship and a research professor of economics at SMU. Wenhua was a research economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas studying consumer finance, impartial access to credit, and the regional economy. She led the effort to establish the DFW Federal Statistical Research Data Center supporting data-driven interdisciplinary research and served as its first executive director. In addition to conducting research and policy analysis, Wenhua taught economics and statistics courses at UT Dallas and consulted for industries, consumers, and government agencies. She holds a PhD in public policy from Harvard University and received a MSc and a BSc from Peking University.
