SMU DataArts is building a national culture of data-driven decision making, enabling useful and accessible information to the arts and culture sector. We are seeking an energetic, motivated, growth-oriented developer to join our team. The position will be responsible for working with other team members and stakeholders to understand business requirements and to assist with project plan estimates and ensure milestones are met, using the latest tools in the industry.
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Education and Experience:
A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience and expertise in PHP, Laravel/Angular framework, MySQL, and version control systems (Git) is required for this position.
Knowledge and Skills:
The ideal candidate will have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a solid customer service orientation. Problem-solving, time management, and project management are all key to the success of this position. Organizational and planning skills with attention to detail are a must.
Candidate should have a passion for the best design and coding practices and the desire to develop creative and bold ideas. Must have enthusiasm in the organization's mission and for bettering and growing the arts and culture sector of our nation. Must be able to produce clear, well-written documents for a wide range of audiences and have the ability to set priorities and manage multiple competing projects on deadline.
This position requires demonstrable knowledge of frameworks currently in use at the organization (AngularJS, Laravel, Bootstrap), Linux, Apache, CSS, HTML. Must have experience building and/or working heavily with REST APIs and a proven history working on long-term, full SDLC projects, particularly using Agile (SCRUM) methodologies.
