Senior Vice President of Administration, Curtis Institute of Music
Larry is the Senior Vice President of Administration & Treasurer (COO/CFO) at the Curtis Institute of Music. In addition to overseeing finance, human resources, legal affairs, facilities operations, and auxiliary services, he supports development staff, coordinates inter-departmental projects, and deepens relationships with partner institutions. Larry launched Curtis's first in-house IT department in 2017, a decision that proved prescient when all operations were moved online due to the 2020 public health crisis.
Since starting at Curtis more than six years ago, Larry has helped develop proposals that led to over $50 million in special funding and financing for the modernization of the school's original building, main performance hall and recording studio; rare stringed instrument collection endowment; and elimination of the school's private student loan program. Larry spearheaded partnerships with the Sphinx Organization to launch a tuition-free summer training academy for young musicians of color, with WHYY to expand public access to student performances over-the-air and online, and with Bauer & Dean to publish the first authorized biography of Curtis's founder, Mary Louise Curtis Bok.
Larry was formerly the CFO/COO of DataArts before its merger with SMU.
