Dr. Glenn Voss

Professor of Marketing, Cox School of Business Research Director, DataArts, SMU

Glenn B. Voss is Professor Emeritus at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and Research Director for SMU DataArts, the National Center for Arts Research. As the founding Research Director for the SMU National Center for Arts Research, Glenn played an instrumental role in attracting start-up funding and creating the NCAR KIPI Dashboard, Arts Vibrancy Heat Map, and Audience Opportunity Tool.

Glenn’s research focusing on innovation and organizational learning, customer satisfaction and relationship management, and retail pricing strategies has appeared in leading academic journals in marketing (e.g., Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research) and management (e.g., Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science)and has been cited nearly 10,000 times according to Google Scholar. His research has attracted funding from the National Science Foundation, Marketing Science Institute, Aspen Institute, and numerous private foundations. In 2008, Glenn was recognized by the American Marketing Association as a Top-100 Cutting Edge Marketing Faculty on the basis of research productivity for the period 2000-07. At SMU, Glenn received the Cox Business School's Outstanding Research award in 2009 and was a Corrigan Research Professor from 2012-16. In 2015, he was awarded the Outstanding Doctoral Alumni Award from Mays Business School at Texas A&M University.

Glenn taught MBA and Ph.D. courses and seminars in marketing management and strategy, international marketing and entrepreneurship, and pricing strategy in the United States, Europe, and China. He served on the editorial review boards at the Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science(Outstanding Reviewer Awards for 2000-2003, 2003-2006, and 2008-09)Journal of Retailing (Outstanding Reviewerin 2006 and 2010), and Journal of Services Research(Outstanding Reviewerin 2011).
