Interim President and Chief Executive Officer
Caralyn Spector joined DataArts’ leadership team in August 2017. She brings extensive experience in management, program development, and promoting the value of the arts in the United States. In her eight years at the NEA, she designed and implemented high-profile programs including the Blue Star Museum Program for military families, the inaugural year of the Musical Theater Songwriting Challenge, and the NEA’s 50th anniversary convening, In Pursuit of the Creative Life: The Future of the Arts and Creativity in America. Previously, she was Program Director for the Columbia University Arts Initiative, where she developed cross-disciplinary arts programming for the entire University population. She holds a BA in Theater and English from Barnard College and is a member of the class of 2017 in the Executive Program in Arts and Culture, a program of National Arts Strategies and the University of Pennsylvania. In September 2017, Caralyn was elected Interim President and CEO.
