PHILADELPHIA– DataArts, the respected national resource for in-depth data about nonprofit arts, culture, and humanities organizations, announced the election of two new members to its Board of Directors: Danielle Brazell, General Manager of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, and Elise Hickel, Strategic Partner Manager at Google.
“Danielle and Elise are wonderful additions to our national board for the combination of personal passion, professional expertise, and access to networks they bring to DataArts,” said Glen Howard, DataArts’ Board Chair. “Each represents the key values that define DataArts: a deep commitment to the arts as a wellspring of creativity and vibrant society and a belief in the power of data to inform and transform all kinds of endeavors.”
Danielle Brazell is the General Manager of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, overseeing a $42 million portfolio of facilities, programming, and initiatives providing arts and cultural services in Los Angeles.
Previously Ms. Brazell was Executive Director of Arts for LA, a regional advocacy organization working to foster a healthy environment in which arts and culture may thrive and be accessible to all in the region. Under her stewardship, Arts for LA became a formidable coalition advancing the arts in the largest county in the country.
Ms. Brazell’s professional experience includes working as the Artistic Director of Highways Performance Space and as the Director of Special Projects for the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. She also serves as a board member of Americans for the Arts.
Based in New York City, Elise Hickel is a Strategic Partner Manager at Google, where she is the global lead for local data initiatives, ensuring Google Maps accurately reflect local business information worldwide. Elise has a strong analytical background developed in her prior experiences at Zagat Survey. During her time at Zagat, Elise led and designed marketing surveys, soliciting client and consumer insights to inform and develop effective marketing campaigns, product refinements, and sales strategies.
